Fertility @ScotiaClinic – Talk to us about your dream of having a Baby

MomBabyDid you know that 1 in 6 couples have difficulty getting pregnant or staying pregnant? For many couples that we meet each year this can be a very isolating experience when they can feel like on-one else understands what they are going through. Just to even know the stats and how common fertility issues can be is the first re-assuring  step for them. With over 14 years as a leading fertility treatment clinic here at the Scotia Clinic we have the skills and expertise to offer and guide you to the best opportunity for successful conception.

Our team is lead by our Medical Director Dr. Mary McCaffrey, MB FRCOG, Consultant Obstetrician – Gynaecologist.  Dr. McCaffrey was previously the  Assistant Master at the Rotunda Hospital, Dublin and Lecturer in Obstetrics and Gynaecology with the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. She was appointed as Consultant Obstetrician/ Gynaecologist at Kerry General Hospital in 1998 and opened The Scotia Clinic (previously Scotia Women’s Clinic) in 2002. During her career Dr. McCaffrey has also served as President of the Irish Hospital Consultants Association.

Dr. McCaffrey is assisted by a highly experienced team in the Scotia Clinic who have helped so many couples throughout the years to fulfil their dream of having a baby. Every couple we meet are assisted by our team in a fully supportive manner and are assured of privacy, discretion and confidentiality.  Sensitivity is at the heart of our approach in all our fertility treatments and sharing with couples the varied number of reasons related to fertility challenges  can be the first reassuring step for them.

Fertility can be affected by a number of different things:

  • Anovulation – Eggs are not being produced.
  • A woman suffers from Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS).
  • An inadequate number of sperm or poor quality sperm are being produced.
  • There is a blockage in or damage to the fallopian tubes – Tubal Disease.
  • Conditions such as fibroids or polyps are affecting implantation in the womb.
  • Endometriosis is affecting the passage of the egg to the fallopian tube.
  • In many cases, there may be no diagnosable reason for a couple’s failure to conceive.

If you or your partner are experiencing fertility problems contact us at Scotia Clinic where you will be assured of complete discretion with a highly experienced team. Talk to us today of your dream of having a baby – 066-7181100 or email reception@scotiaclinic.ie or secretaries@scotiaclinic.ie
